
A fatal road accident at Adansi Dompoase, near the new Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) office, has claimed six lives, the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has confirmed.
In a statement issued by the Ashanti Region Public Relations Office, the GNFS said it received a distress call at 12:43 pm and swiftly dispatched a rescue team to the scene.
The rescue operation, led by ADOII Samuel Mensah, found a VIP bus (registration GW 8455-23) and a Benz Sprinter (registration GS 6383-20) involved in the collision.
According to the GNFS, the Sprinter was completely mangled from the rear, while the VIP bus sustained partial damage to its front.
The statement added that rescue operations were completed by 1:28 pm, with six deceased victims handed over to the Police. One injured person was transported to the Fomena Government Hospital for emergency treatment.
The cause of the accident, the GNFS noted, remains under investigation.

Rescue operations were completed by 1328hrs with six lifeless bodies were handed over to the Police. One injured person was rushed to the Fomena Government Hospital for emergency care. The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
